Micro-credentials are affordable and take less time to complete than degrees or diplomas. They may be completed online, on campus or on-the-job.
Micro-credentials are verifiable credentials from reputable organizations so you can prove what you know to current and future employers.
Many micro-credentials are created with input from business sectors to equip you with the knowledge and skills to match employer needs.

The Micro-credentials Portal is a great starting point to explore many of the micro-credentials offered by Ontario colleges, universities, and Indigenous Institutes.
Use the search button and apply filters to find a micro-credential that fits your learning needs. Once you have found a micro-credential, use the ”Register Now” button on the top left to enroll in the program through the host college, university or Indigenous Institute directly.
Most micro-credentials are stand-alone. Some micro-credentials are ”stackable” – these follow a learning pathway and may be combined towards a larger credential. For further information, please contact the host college, university or Indigenous Institute directly.
The duration of a micro-credential varies by program. Micro-credentials that are approved for OSAP are under 12 weeks in length. Use the filter option to search by duration for a program that fits your lifestyle.
Most micro-credentials are open to anyone – whether you are a current postsecondary student, a recent graduate exploring career options, or a mid-career professional, micro-credentials can help you find your next opportunity.
Upon completing the program, you will receive a micro-credential. Some micro-credentials may be issued digitally. They are a verifiable credential that you own and can share on your resume, LinkedIn profile, and more.
Currently, more than 1,200 micro-credentials are eligible for financial assistance through OSAP. You can check to see if a micro-credential is OSAP eligible by reviewing the ”Micro-credentials Description” section of each micro-credential listed in the portal.
eCampusOntario is funded by the Government of Ontario and leads a consortium of the province’s publicly-funded colleges, universities and Indigenous Institutes to develop and test online learning tools to advance the use of education technology and digital learning environments.
