The Micro-credentials Portal is a great starting point to explore many short-duration training programs offered by Ontario colleges, universities, and Indigenous Institutes.
Use the “Search by Skills, Job Title, or Technology” tool to receive personalized recommendations based on the skills shortages or mismatches affecting your organization. Try the “Industries in Focus” feature to explore a shortlist of sector-aligned micro-credentials. Click “Browse All Listings” to receive a wider view of Ontario’s micro-credential ecosystem and apply filters that match your organization’s skill development or hiring priorities.
Once you’ve found a program of interest, click the “Visit Institution” button to enroll your staff in training directly through the host college, university, or Indigenous Institute’s website.

Most micro-credentials are open to anyone and are stand-alone; however, some micro-credentials are stackable. Stackable micro-credentials follow a training pathway and may be combined towards a larger credential. Stackable programs are denoted by the label “Micro-credential +.”
Micro-credentials are shorter than traditional degrees or diplomas. Programs can range from a few hours to several weeks in length. Use the filter option to search by duration for a program that fits your organization’s training needs.
Upon completing a training program, your employees will receive a micro-credential. Some micro-credentials may be issued digitally. They are verifiable credentials that your employees will own and can share in their resume, LinkedIn profile, and more.
